Meeting Momma G

Wow! Where do I begin? I want to tell you the story about the sitter that we found for Cason. What a precious lady, just let me say that right off the bat!!!
Our friends Jason and Carrie (some of you may know them as Peppy & Carrie) have a little girl Samantha and she's been going to the same sitter since she was 18 months old. We asked Carrie one day, "do you know of any good baby sitters in the area?" We had visited a few day care centers and they were wonderful, but neither of us felt like our infant was ready for that yet (or maybe Mommy & Daddy weren't). Maybe at 6 months or a year old, but not at 8 weeks (ish). So Carrie found out that her sitter had an opening and we were off to meet Mrs. Georgia Carter.

She and her husband Kelly keeps 3 children in her home - Samantha, Libby, Abby, as well as her grandchildren on some days - Jacob, Isaiah and Rose. Carrie actually went to high school with her son Troy and her daughter in law Marie. Mrs. Georgia has been keeping children in her home for about 5 years now and is so wonderful!!! I could go on and on - there's just so much to tell. From the first time I talked with her on the phone about possibly being a sitter for Cason, I loved her. I know that the Lord placed her in our lives for a reason. After Donald and I met with her, we decided that she was definitely the one that we wanted to watch our little boy when I returned to work.
On March 9, we took Cason to spend a few hours with Momma G (as the kids call her) to see how he would like it. I've been told that "YOUR first day should not be HIS first day", meaning his first day at a new place should NOT be your first day back to work. So we agreed on a trial run. As we both figured, he was there for about 5 hours and had Momma G wrapped around his little finger by the time we picked him up. He loved every minute. Play time, nap time, FOOD time... loved it all. What a big boy he's becoming.
