Visitors, cupcakes & more

We had so many visitors come by to say hello and to see our newest addition to the family!

So many came by the hospital to visit and brought treats (thanks David, Misty and Avery for the yummy Gigi's cupcakes!!) and gifts, sent flowers, and cookies [ =o) thanks Cagle family!]. Several came by the house to bring dinner [for us AND for Yaya] and MORE treats and spend some special one on one time with the best baby E-VER!! Thanks so much Pepe, Carrie, Sam, and Joey& Mindy. We cannot thank everyone enough for all you have done for us. We are truly blessed beyond measure!!!

Just goes to show you how much the little guy is loved so much by so many already!!

Happy Birthday Little Man!!!

HE IS HERE!!!
(this was so awesome we had to post it again!)

Cason Scott Knight took his first breath on January 5, 2010 at 5:03 a.m. He weighed in at a healthy 7lbs 5.5oz and was 20 inches long. 10 fingers, 10 toes!! What a miracle he is!!!
On January 4, 2010 we were expected to be at the hospital to check in at 4:00 pm to be induced. At 10:00 am that morning, we received a call from the dr's office that they wanted us to check in early, so we were there by 2:00 pm. We think they were excited to meet Cason too!!
We checked in to our LDR (labor/delivery/recovery) room and prepared for what Dr. Lipsitz said would be a long process. We anticipated a long labor, very long! I had to have 2 rounds of antibiotics, as well as meds to start labor. All I can say is "epidural is your friend!!!" I had thought I might try to go as long as possible before getting it, but after my water broke, the contractions came FAST and HARD! MOMMY NEEDED DRUGS!!! =o)
The nurse started my Pitocin around 8 pm, and by 10 pm my water broke on it's own - no stopping now - he's coming! Once I received my epidural and started to get comfortable, labor progressed very well. The little guys heart rate kept going up and down so they decided to put me on oxygen to see if it would help. We watched football, a movie, and napped making the time pass. By 2 am Tuesday morning, Dr Lipsitz was worried about the baby's heartrate fluctuating when we tried to push. She decided that a Cesearean was going to be our best option, and we were rushed to the operating room.
As scared as we both were - of the hurriedness of it all, of the operating room, of the change of plans, of becoming parents - it all melted away when we heard that precious, sweet cry for the first time. I've never loved my husband more than in that very moment!!! I'm not sure (IMHO)that there is another baby in this world that was as greatly anticipated as Cason, by us anyway!!
Even though he arrived with his left arm in the air first, he "pinked up" quickly and squealed and squirmed just perfectly. Dad, Mom and Cason, the best baby E-VER (as we have dubbed him) are doing fantastically!!!

Much love to you all

The Knight Family!

WE'RE BACK!!

We are finally back to update everyone on the wonderful world that is CASON SCOTT KNIGHT.....
Figured we would give you a little update on ALL that has happened (in small spurts of course) since we last left you, which was still preggo at 38 weeks! We made it to our due date so you still have 3 weeks of preggo news to catch up on first.
Week 38 was loads of fun becaue it was the week of Christmas!! Of course we had dr's appointments galore, and another ultrasound (BPP). It is such an exciting time!! Daddy and I were both still at work, and that week seemed to drag on forever. Luckily Christmas Eve at 1:00pm started our vacation, THEN the following week (possibly) the little man will make his arrival. We were electric with anticipation.
Yaya and PaPa came to town to spend Christmas with us, since we were pretty much home-bound for the holidays. We ate entirely too much over the next 4 days. LOTS of ham and sweet potatoes, haha.... It was great to have family here for the holiday, and made it feel a little like home. We also received LOTS of clothes for the little guy. Daddy and I decided to buy gifts for the baby and exchange them with each other, instead of buying gifts for one another. THAT was probably my most favorite part of the holiday. So fun!
Week 39 was a TON of fun too. Daddy and I were officially on vacation for the whole week! Sleeping in is an awesome thing!! Definitely a luxury!! Also, Uncle Danny and Emma were coming to town to see us for a few days before the baby made his arrival. On December 29, we had our final dr's appointment (in office) with Dr. Lipsitz and she scheduled us to be induced on our due date - JANUARY 5. Looks like the little guy is going to take his time getting here!
As soon as Danny and Emma arrived, we headed straight for McDonald's playplace! Being 6 years old and cooped up in a car for 8+ hours makes you want to get out and run/jump/scream/bounce/play ALOT. She had a blast too!! Over the next few days, we went to the movies to see the Chipmunk Squeak-uel, to the mall, to the Adventure Science Museum, and watched LOTS of Phineas and Ferb (WHATCHADOOOOOOOOIN?)!!! Unfortunately, the trip was over waaaay too soon. But we knew the next time we saw them, we would have a little one to share with them! New Years Day came and went so quickly, but it was great to have our family there to share it with.
Week 40 is when Cason decided to make his arrival, January 5 - RIGHT ON TIME!! (more on that later, obviously!!!)
This is what the little guy would possibly look like at 38 weeks, 39 weeks and 40 weeks (but we all know that he's much cuter than this!!).

40 weeks

Hope to have a new update soon, and I'll do my best to get pictures from Christmas and New Year's uploaded. We are about to be on quite an adventure!!!

Love you lots,

Mommy!
