January 5, 2010......

.........IT'S OFFICIAL!!! It's the newest Knight child's projected date of arrival! WOO HOO!!

Hi everyone, this time it's Mom & Dad (Mom is typing). We had a BIG day today!

We went to see our new OB (or Obstegeniarn as the little one likes to say). Dr. Lipsitz (pronounced just like it's spelled, Lip-sitz) is a wonderful Dr. We really like her and spent lots of time with her today getting to know one another. She calmed LOTS of our fears as far as do's & don'ts - first timers, remember!!! She's got "the Dr. personality", a little reserved but warms up to you. By the time Donald is done with her in 9+ months, OH she's GONNA loosen up!! Not only is she great, but the nurses are fun loving and have such sweet spirits. We both really like them all - receptionists, nurses, phlebotomists (blood stealers), etc.

We did get an opportunity to have another ultrasound, and, um, WOW!! That little booger is growing like crazy!! I think it's all the ginger snaps I've been eating but I could be wrong... Dr. Lipsitz said "Everything looks great" - You have NO IDEA how that made us feel.... it was like 50 pounds was instantly removed from our chests and just floated out of the room!!!! The baby is about the size of a blueberry now and we're just still in awe at the amazing awesomeness of God!! Holy Cow! We got to see the heartbeat and we both just sat there and stared in amazement! We asked if she had another appointment after us in that particular exam room so that we could just sit there and stare at it for a while...... We're already soooooo in love!!

Sorry Donald but I have GOT to tell this sweet, sweet story... We were waiting for the blood stealer and kept looking at the way-too-small-to-stare-at-it-all-day ultrasound picture (they really should make them available in 8x10's). I looked at Donald and asked what he was thinking and he said "the baby doesn't even have fingers yet and they already have me wrapped around them!". How do you NOT cry at that!!?!! So precious, I'm so lucky! Thank you Gamma & Gaga for the wonderful man that you raised. I'm just absolutely speechless at times!

Being the sleepy head, still new at this, soon to be parents that we are, we (meaning Missy because she won the Rocks/Paper/Scissor contest and got custody of the picture for the day) left the new ultrasound picture at Missy's desk. We're officially 7 weeks today! Not as far along as we thought, but we are "along" and so grateful and thankful for that. The first picture is the "microscope" picture of the little guy/gal. The second is the 7 week ultrasound and Lil Duck is quite at home for now somewhere in the circle.

It's officially bedtime, because I'm beat and the little booger steals all my energy (but between us, I gladly give it away freely!!!) =o)

Love, Love, Love

Mom & Dad (Wow, that sounds wonderful!)
May 12, 2009

Hi! I'm Lil Duck!

Mom and Dad set up this blog so that everyone can see, hear, read and experience what our growing family is going through. I'm pretty sure that we're going to send updates regularly - sometimes me, sometimes Mom and sometimes Dad - but I'm new around here, so I'm not really sure. Plus I lost the Rock/Paper/Scissor contest, so I'm first. =o)

We all went to see Mom's GYN, Dr. Brennan on Monday, May 11 and we ALL finally got to meet. They seem pretty cool actually. He's always smiling and she cries (but good cries, ya know) -what's up with that?!! But they seem like great people. Dr. Brennan referred Mom & Dad to another doctor that specializes in delivering babies. I think its an Obstitution or maybe Obstegenarian or something... but I just call her an OB. Her name is Dr. Lipsitz and we all have an appointment with her on May 19. Dr. Brennan seems to think that a possible due date would be January 5, 2010 but we think that Dr. Lipsitz will give us a more definitive answer.

Mom had to have blood work done for Dr. Brennan on May 11 just to make sure everything was ok. I don't like that lady sticking Mom like she did, but turns out everything is just fine. Dr. Brennan wanted to make sure that, well, #1 Mom was preggers (they found me on the Ultrasound so, um, DUH!) and #2 she wanted to be sure that Mom's progesterone levels were doing well. Looks like everything is great because well, Mom IS preggers and it's progressing just fine and her progesterone levels are (to quote Dr. B) "fantastic". {Side note - Apparently there were some problems in the past with Mom's progesterone levels when Mom & Dad were first trying to get pregnant years ago, that was just one thing that Dr. B wanted to be sure to check. And all is well!}

Mom has been doing pretty well. She's been napping more lately. She seems to feel sea sick from time to time, but I dunno why. I mean, it's not like she's on a boat or anything, but whatever..... Dad bought Mom her first Mother's Day card on Sunday and she cried (cuz well, Mom's a crier)!! She does that more often now.

Dad is doing great, spoiling Mom like crazy! He's doing so much to keep the stress off of Mom, which helps me out ALOT!! He is definitely The Man!!! He rubs his head alot here lately.... I'm not really sure what that means, but something tells me if he keeps it up, he's gonna look like Kojak! I like the silver hair though... I might call him the Silver Fox from time to time...

Gamma, Gaga and Auntie Carol sent Mom 2 Mother's day cards, and well, Mom cried. They were really sweet though. Mom is in search mode for the card that Auntie Carol gave her years and years ago when they got engaged that said "When are you gonna make me an Aunt?!". I think she wants bookends or something.... I dunno, like I said, I'm new around here..... =o)

I've put the folks in charge of putting a few pictures up. See I don't exactly have fingers yet, so having them around really helps me out a bunch!! This is what I look like - between 6 to 7 weeks - about the size of a Lentil Bean. The first one is a cleaned up version of what I would look like if you saw me with an awesome microscope. The second one is the picture that we had taken when we all first met. I'm floating somewhere in the circle. Please be patient with the folks - they're kinda new at this stuff too.....

Hope to catch up with everyone real soon!!!

Love to you all....

Lil' Duck
