4 Wheelin'.... SWEET!

On Saturday (the 27th) we went over to Uncle Ronnie & Aunt Leslie's house for a cookout and hang out before we went back home to Tennessee. Chase, Danielle, Victoria & Courtney were there too. We don't get to spend much time with them when we're home so this was a special treat to have them one night, all to ourselves!

We went over early and cooked out, then played cornhole while others played pool. Cason even had his first "official" ride on the 4 wheeler with Daddy (I promise he was safe, Auntie Carol!! hehe.) Uncle Danny, Aunt Holly, Emma and Cole came also. Uncle Clayton and our "guy" Ryan were there too. Later on, there was karaoke, and you KNOW that's always fun!! It was a late night, but man we had a blast!!

It's no fun doing this without my Gaga....
I mean, it's just not the same!!!

Chillin' out

We spent the next few days just visiting and hanging out with Cason. We're realizing more and more what a fun & mellow fellow he is. What an awesome little boy!!

Gator Country

FINALLY!!!
Daddy gets to take his best friend in the whole world to his favorite place on earth -
Gainesville.

Everyone loaded up and headed to a Florida Gator baseball game on Wednesday (3/24). Gamma, Gaga, Daddy, Mommy & Cason all rode together. We went down a little early so we could see some of spring football practice, do some sight seeing, and shopping. Had to stock up on more Gator gear!!

Later Auntie Carol, Uncle Danny and Emma met us at the ballfield. We also got to see Jason, Krista, Kerrie, Evan & Drew. It was $1 hot dog night so we all ate like Kings!! =o)

And what can be better than meeting Albert?!!

What a GREAT day!!

Sweet Miss Emma

Miss Emma couldn't wait for us to get to Florida so that she could meet 'Baby Cason'. She was so excited Sunday morning (03/21) when she asked if she could feed him & burp him. That was too sweet. And with that sweet little face, how can you say no?!
You can tell she's had alot of practice with her dolls (and her brother!!) because she was so gentle with him. It was precious to watch. Cason is very lucky to have such a cool cousin. She's an awesome little lady!

(look at that smile - don't you just melt!)

Love you lots, Em!!

Uncle Clayton comes home....

....but just for a visit. Uncle Clayton is in the Army and is stationed in South Korea right now. He was home on leave to visit the family. We sure missed him!!
The main reason we were headed to Florida was to see Cason's "Uncle" Clayton. Now technically, Clayton and Cason are cousins, but since Clayton is so much older than the other cousins, and he's really more like one of the guys than the kids, we gave him the option to be called Uncle. He seems to like it! =o)
We met Uncle Clayton at the airport in Jacksonville on Saturday night (Mar 20) - Gamma & Gaga, Auntie Carol, Uncle Kevin, Clayton's best friend Ryan, Daddy, Mommy & Cason. We even made signs to greet him with when he got off the plane. It was late when he got in but we were all so happy to see him. We were happy to have him all to ourselves, at least for a few days, so that we could hang out and catch up (and of course, eat some of Gamma's famous Lemon Cream cheese pie).
LOVE YOU UNCLE CLAYTON!!!

Our 1st FAMILY trip

YEA!!! It's finally here... our FIRST family trip to Florida. These next few posts are going to be about our Florida trip so forgive me if it seems "choppy"....
Now I know that most people do NOT look forward to traveling with a newborn, especially on long trips. But our little man had such a wonderful disposition - well, after our initial stop to pee, poop, eat and then fall asleep - for the entire trip!!! I think we were so full of joy and excitement just to get him "home" to meet everyone, we made sure to be in the right mindset for our first road trip!!! What fun!!

(this is his "lets go" face!)

He was so excited!
(this day was so hard for Mommy!)

Meeting Momma G

Wow! Where do I begin? I want to tell you the story about the sitter that we found for Cason. What a precious lady, just let me say that right off the bat!!!
Our friends Jason and Carrie (some of you may know them as Peppy & Carrie) have a little girl Samantha and she's been going to the same sitter since she was 18 months old. We asked Carrie one day, "do you know of any good baby sitters in the area?" We had visited a few day care centers and they were wonderful, but neither of us felt like our infant was ready for that yet (or maybe Mommy & Daddy weren't). Maybe at 6 months or a year old, but not at 8 weeks (ish). So Carrie found out that her sitter had an opening and we were off to meet Mrs. Georgia Carter.

She and her husband Kelly keeps 3 children in her home - Samantha, Libby, Abby, as well as her grandchildren on some days - Jacob, Isaiah and Rose. Carrie actually went to high school with her son Troy and her daughter in law Marie. Mrs. Georgia has been keeping children in her home for about 5 years now and is so wonderful!!! I could go on and on - there's just so much to tell. From the first time I talked with her on the phone about possibly being a sitter for Cason, I loved her. I know that the Lord placed her in our lives for a reason. After Donald and I met with her, we decided that she was definitely the one that we wanted to watch our little boy when I returned to work.
On March 9, we took Cason to spend a few hours with Momma G (as the kids call her) to see how he would like it. I've been told that "YOUR first day should not be HIS first day", meaning his first day at a new place should NOT be your first day back to work. So we agreed on a trial run. As we both figured, he was there for about 5 hours and had Momma G wrapped around his little finger by the time we picked him up. He loved every minute. Play time, nap time, FOOD time... loved it all. What a big boy he's becoming.

(this was taken that evening, after we got home)

Baby Einstein rocks

Little man is loving his Baby Einstein that Grampa & Grama Tracey gave him. Took some time to get him used to being on his back AND playing at the same time, but he loves it. He has a big mirror to stare at himself in, and lots of rattles to shake and hanging toys to pull on. It even has a music box that changes tunes with each movement on the mat. Way cool fun!!

Well......

Sometimes, Mommy gets bored!

So.....

.....not a happy camper.
There were no tears.
He was just making this face as
he was falling asleep in the swing.

Daddy's practice

We headed out to the ballfield so that Cason could watch his Daddy's first softball practice of the season. It was a little cool and windy, but again, he was a trooper. He had a blast!!!!

2 month well baby check

We had our 2 month well baby check up with Dr. Johnson on March 3 and all was well. Little man has been eating like a champ. He LOVES formula (we stopped nursing at 6 weeks - his little tummy was just having such trouble digesting it, no matter what mommy ate) and he is really starting to thrive.
When Selina (Dr. Johnson's nurse) said how much he weighed and how long he was, I started to daydream...... (In my best ring announcer's voice) "and in this corner, weighing in at 12lbs, 4 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long, the one, the only, the best baby E-VER......CASON KNIGHT"...... HOLY COW!!!! Had our little boy really grown that much in just a few weeks?!! Hard to believe..... so so blessed!!!

Meeting Grampa

Grampa Jerry and Grama Tracey came to visit us the weekend of March 6 and we had so much fun. Cason had a chance to love on his Grampa for the first time, and it was just so sweet to see. Makes your heart melt!! =o)

They came over from Memphis on Saturday and we talked and watched some basketball & played & cooed for a while - you know, the fun stuff.... We napped while Grampa & Grama Tracey checked into their hotel and rested also. (Grampa's back was really hurting at the time. He's had surgery since and is muuuuuuuch better now!!!) Then we met for dinner and went to Chili's where we chatted and caught up some more.
Grampa & Grama Tracey headed back to Memphis late Sunday morning after another visit. They brought wonderful presents (a Baby Einstein play mat) and some wonderful clothes (including a Memphis Tigers sleep-n-play)!! hehehe. It was great to see them, but so sad to see them go. We already agreed that we would come to see them next time & possibly go to a Memphis Redbirds game. Sounds like fun!!! Love you both so much!!
