Happy 4th of July!
Our 4th of July celebration was very mellow and laid back, just the way we wanted it.
We spent another few hours in the pool just relaxing...
After pool time, cheesin' it up!
Later in the afternoon we went over to Yaya & Papa Clayton's house and watched as Cason played in his pool. He discovered a new found love for the waterhose and would not let go of it for anything! We really enjoyed ourselves just resting on their porch swing, drinking some sweet tea & watching him have a ball!

Finally, relaxation!
After all the yardwork, and party preparations, and all the hard work involved with planning the big 50th party, we spent the day after just hanging out! We stayed in pool most of the day, and ate lots and lots of leftover BBQ from the party (it was still so yummy) and enjoyed our time together as a family.
I think sometimes we take for granted what a special family we have! I mean, its not every day that your parents celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary!! We were reminded on this trip just how much everyone really cares for and loves each other and what a tight knit bond we all really have.
It was definitely a time of celebration!!

Our little fish
After the hustle and bustle of the party, we enjoyed some downtime in the pool. Daddy, Evan and Cason were busy playing in the "lounge area" which was just perfect for the lil guy to be in the water with everyone else. He even sang the ending to "Ring Around the Rosie" for us (last video)!
Such a funny, silly kiddo.
He always keeps us smiling and laughing.
It's amazing how much he's learning lately!

Gone fishin'
The day prior to G&G's anniversary party, the guys took a manly man deep sea fishing trip off the coast of St. Augustine. Not only do the guys look cute, but they're functional too!! They caught a TON of fish including shark!! The water was great and the weather was perfect. What a great time!

The day after the fishing trip, we gathered at Danny & Holly's for some swimming and eating!!! The whole family, including extended family, were there to fry up some fish, shark, halibut & hush puppies!!

YUM! Dinner was soooo good!!
After dinner we had a special presentation for G&G.
The family had written a letter to several folks G&G really admire and requested an acknowledgment of some kind from them about their upcoming 50th Wedding Anniversary. Were we surprised with the responses we received?!! You betcha!!

those from the Atlanta Braves and Jacksonville Jaguars!
Jeff Lageman even sent each individual grandchild an autographed football card!!

They were so surprised with the responses. They were not expecting something like that at all.
The food was great and the fellowship was even better.
It was an awesome, awesome time!!
