January 5, 2010......
.........IT'S OFFICIAL!!! It's the newest Knight child's projected date of arrival! WOO HOO!!
Hi everyone, this time it's Mom & Dad (Mom is typing). We had a BIG day today!
We went to see our new OB (or Obstegeniarn as the little one likes to say). Dr. Lipsitz (pronounced just like it's spelled, Lip-sitz) is a wonderful Dr. We really like her and spent lots of time with her today getting to know one another. She calmed LOTS of our fears as far as do's & don'ts - first timers, remember!!! She's got "the Dr. personality", a little reserved but warms up to you. By the time Donald is done with her in 9+ months, OH she's GONNA loosen up!! Not only is she great, but the nurses are fun loving and have such sweet spirits. We both really like them all - receptionists, nurses, phlebotomists (blood stealers), etc.
We did get an opportunity to have another ultrasound, and, um, WOW!! That little booger is growing like crazy!! I think it's all the ginger snaps I've been eating but I could be wrong... Dr. Lipsitz said "Everything looks great" - You have NO IDEA how that made us feel.... it was like 50 pounds was instantly removed from our chests and just floated out of the room!!!! The baby is about the size of a blueberry now and we're just still in awe at the amazing awesomeness of God!! Holy Cow! We got to see the heartbeat and we both just sat there and stared in amazement! We asked if she had another appointment after us in that particular exam room so that we could just sit there and stare at it for a while...... We're already soooooo in love!!
Sorry Donald but I have GOT to tell this sweet, sweet story... We were waiting for the blood stealer and kept looking at the way-too-small-to-stare-at-it-all-day ultrasound picture (they really should make them available in 8x10's). I looked at Donald and asked what he was thinking and he said "the baby doesn't even have fingers yet and they already have me wrapped around them!". How do you NOT cry at that!!?!! So precious, I'm so lucky! Thank you Gamma & Gaga for the wonderful man that you raised. I'm just absolutely speechless at times!
Being the sleepy head, still new at this, soon to be parents that we are, we (meaning Missy because she won the Rocks/Paper/Scissor contest and got custody of the picture for the day) left the new ultrasound picture at Missy's desk. We're officially 7 weeks today! Not as far along as we thought, but we are "along" and so grateful and thankful for that. The first picture is the "microscope" picture of the little guy/gal. The second is the 7 week ultrasound and Lil Duck is quite at home for now somewhere in the circle.

It's officially bedtime, because I'm beat and the little booger steals all my energy (but between us, I gladly give it away freely!!!) =o)

That is awesome news - another January baby. Those are kind of special if I do say so myself. I'm so happy that all is going well. I know you're going to take every moment of joy with you each day - I think that helps make happy babies. God's love and blessings are amazing. Going to work with a huge smile on my face. Love you lots.
It's just too wonderful! I can't wait!
Love, Mel
Aw Missy, didn't I tell you Donald would be like that. You just wait til you start pooching out. Bless his heart, he will me bald before the little guy gets here. Yep, I made a prediction, it's a boy.
you sure know how to make a girl cry! If you want to make a neat book for this sweet baby, Seann showed me a neat website where you can transfer your blog writings to a bound book, complete with pictures....I think it is
www.blurb.com
If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll find out the site for sure from him. I am so excited for you and am praying for you!
Gramps is very excited for both of you. I have watched you around children of others and will tell you both that you are going to make fantastic parents. I know Lil Duck will be taken care of with tender loving kindness. Tracey and I are looking forward to the day we get to hold the little one for the first time. Let us knoe how things are going. Love you both very much......
