Scary moments
Cason was a little "Snotty Scotty" on Tuesday, which we just attributed to this time of year & some teething. Well, Wednesday he was still a little stuffy, but no fever so we headed off to Momma G's for another day of fun. Apparently Awesome wasn't having such a great day because we got a phone call from Momma G around 1:30.
She said Cason's breathing had gotten worse throughout the day, and she felt that it might be more than just a runny nose or a cold. (We just adore her so much!) He hadn't had a morning nap, and wasn't able to drink much throughout the day because of his breathing. I told her we were on our way! By the time Daddy & I got there to pick him up, his breathing was so labored that he was actually panting and wheezing!
We headed straight to Tennessee Pediatrics to see Dr. Hudson (Dr. Johnson wasn't available). Dr. Hudson listened to his heart and lungs and tested him for RSV, then told us that he wanted to give Cason a breathing treatment. The RSV test came back negative - thank goodness! The nurse prepared us that he may be frightened by the mask, the noise, the mist, and/or all of the above. But Cason was a champ, and wasn't frightened AT ALL! He actually fell asleep on Mommy for a while during the treatment!! I'm sure it was because he was happy he could breathe again!!
Dr. Hudson gave us a prescription for Albuterol and a nebulizer that we could use at home. The mask is a turtle and it's small for little faces to use. Later Wednesday evening, his breathing started to become difficult again, so we gave him another treatment before bed.
He slept pretty well until about 3 am when he decided to serenade us for a while. Then he drifted back to sleep until around 6am Thursday. Daddy stayed home with him this time so they could have some "guy time" while Cason recovered.
After 2 breathing treatments on Thursday, he's doing muuuuuch better.......
Funny how God finds ways to remind you not to take things for granted - your health, your children, your family.
Love you little boy, so very much!
We are truly blessed!03/02-03/11

How scary! So glad to hear he's feeling better. :)
Thank you everyone so much for your thoughts & prayers!
Glad Cason is feeling better! It's so hard when little ones are sick. We have the lovely nebulizer too. Jack actually likes it and thinks it a game! Hey, whatever works huh?!
Thanks for stopping by Jumping Jack! My shop is www.sunfirecreative.com
